"नमस्कार! एक अत्यंत हृदयद्रावक आणि धक्का देणारी घटना सांगली जिल्ह्यातील आटपाडी तालुक्यातील नेलकरंजी गावामध्ये घडली आहे. बारावीच्या सराव परीक्षेत कमी गुण मिळाल्याच्या कारणावरून एका वडिलांनी आपल्या १७ वर्षांच्या मुलीला अमानुष मारहाण केली आणि त्या मारहाणीमुळे तिचा दुर्दैवी मृत्यू झाला."

"ही घटना खरंच अत्यंत दुःखद आणि धक्कादायक आहे. या विद्यार्थिनीचं नाव साधना लोंडिराम बोसले असं आहे. ती आटपाडी तालुक्यातील एका नामांकित कॉलेजमध्ये विज्ञान शाखेची बारावीची विद्यार्थिनी होती. मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार, ती धावीत ९५% गुण मिळवणारी हुशार विद्यार्थिनी होती.

मात्र, नुकत्याच झालेल्या सराव परीक्षेत कमी गुण मिळाल्यामुळे तिच्या वडिलांनी तिला जबर मारहाण केली. वडिल म्हणाले की, ‘तुला डॉक्टर बनवण्यासाठी आम्ही इतका खर्च करतोय, आणि तू असे गुण मिळवतेस?’."

"घटनेच्या दिवशी साधना घरी परत आली होती. वडिलांना तिचे कमी गुण समजल्यावर त्यांचं रागाने नियंत्रण सुटलं. त्यांनी तिला कुंड्यांनी व लाथाबुक्क्यांनी बेदम मारहाण केली. या प्रकारामुळे ती तिच्या खोलीत बेशुद्ध अवस्थेत पडून राहिली.

सकाळी तिचे वडील योगा करण्यासाठी गेले होते. परत आल्यावर त्यांनी बघितले तेव्हा साधना अचेत अवस्थेत होती. तिला रुग्णालयात नेण्याआधीच तिचा मृत्यू झाला होता."

"या घटनेची माहिती मिळताच पोलिसांनी तत्काळ कारवाई केली असून, साधनाचे वडील – गावातील एका शाळेचे मुख्याध्यापक – यांना अटक केली आहे. त्यांच्या विरोधात आयपीसीच्या विविध कलमांतर्गत गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला आहे."

Chhaava box office collection Day 19: Vicky Kaushal starrer slows down; earns Rs 5.5 crore as it nears Rs 500 crore milestone

The historical epic Chhaava has maintained a strong box office run but witnessed a sharp decline in numbers on its third Tuesday.

The film, is currently in its third week at the box office, and according to early estimates, its collections seem to be slowing down. On its 19th day in theatres, the film earned an estimated Rs 5.50 crore, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.

This brings the film’s third-week total to approximately Rs 72.5 crore.

Chhaava had a stellar opening, raking in Rs 219.25 crore in its first week, followed by a solid second-week collection of Rs 180.25 crore. However, its performance slowed in the third weekend, beginning with Rs 13 crore on Friday, before picking up with Rs 22 crore on Saturday and an estimated Rs 24.25 crore on Sunday.

The dip in collections coincides with the film recording a 9.82% overall Hindi occupancy on Tuesday. Its total box office earnings now stand at an estimated Rs 472 crore, just a few crores shy of the Rs 500 crore milestone.

If Chhaava surpasses this mark, it will become the first Hindi film to achieve the feat in 2025 and mark Kaushal’s entry into the prestigious Rs 500 crore club. Vicky's last film to hit this milestone was 'Sanju', the Sanjay Dutt biopic, which starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles.

The film's success can be attributed to several factors. Vicky Kaushal's compelling portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has been widely acclaimed, drawing audiences to theaters. The direction by Laxman Utekar, known for his previous hits like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Mimi and Luka Chuppi,Furthermore, Chhaava's strong performance in Maharashtra, a region with a deep cultural connection to Maratha history, has significantly contributed to its domestic earnings. The film's ability to resonate with local audiences while appealing to a broader demographic underscores its universal appeal.Even in North America which has been the biggest market for Hindi Cinema outside of India, Chhaava has done wonders with it already crossing US $ 5 million mark.

Chhaava also featured stellar performances by Akshaye Khanna as Mughal rule Aurangzeb, Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai and Viineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash. The makers recently released the Telugu trailer of the film on public demand, the film is slated to release on 7th of March and would be instrumental in pushing the domestic numbers of the film to greater heights.
